Combine flour, softened butter, and brown sugar. Press this mixture into an ungreased 13x9 pan.

In a small saucepan, cook butter with brown sugar while stirring. Once it starts bubbling, keep it going for another 30-60 seconds to get thicker.

Lay out the pecans on top of the crust and pour the caramel sauce evenly over them.

Pop it in the oven for 18-20 minutes or until the caramel bubbles and the edges take on a golden color.

Scatter chocolate chips on the hot caramel layer. Wait a couple of minutes for them to soften, then spread them around.
