Penne with Peas Bacon (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
02 - 6 thick slices bacon, chopped into bits
03 - ¼ cup heavy cream
04 - ½ yellow onion, minced
05 - ¾ pound penne pasta
06 - 1 cup frozen peas

# Instructions:

01 - Boil a big pot of water with salt. Toss in the pasta. When pasta is halfway done, throw the peas in. Cook everything until the pasta is a little firm (not fully soft), about 1 minute under the recommended time on the box.
02 - Warm olive oil in a big pan on medium-high heat. Sauté onion and bacon together until crispy but not burned.
03 - Drain the pasta and peas, then toss them into the pan with the bacon and onions. Turn heat to medium. Stir in the cream, and if it looks dry, splash in a little extra cream.
04 - Serve it hot right away. Let people top their bowls with as much cheese as they like.

# Notes:

01 - Eat immediately because pasta keeps softening after it's cooked.
02 - Works well in big pasta bowls for easy eating.
03 - Italian saying: 'The food waits for no one!'
