Lemon Glaze Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cookie Dough

01 - 1 large egg
02 - 4 tablespoons of 2% or whole milk
03 - 3 1/4 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 1/4 cup of butter, melted and cooled down
05 - 200 grams plain flour (1 1/2 cups + 2 tbsp total)
06 - Zest of 1 lemon, finely grated
07 - A pinch of salt (use 1/4 tsp if butter isn’t salted)
08 - 1 tsp baking powder

→ Lemon Glaze

09 - 1-2 cups powdered sugar
10 - 1 tbsp of milk
11 - 1 tbsp lemon juice

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F). Place parchment paper over your baking tray.
02 - Stir together the flour, baking powder, sugar, zest, and salt in a large bowl. Make a center well, add your egg, milk, and melted butter, then gently mix with a fork. Move to a work surface and knead lightly until the dough is smooth.
03 - Form the dough into thin ropes around 5-6 inches long. Shape them into circles or twist into knots before spacing them out on your prepped tray.
04 - Cook for 15-18 minutes till edges are just golden. Cool them completely before adding any topping.
05 - Sift the icing sugar and mix with the lemon juice and milk to reach your desired consistency. Spread it on cooled cookies or dust lightly with sugar.

# Notes:

01 - Switch butter for light olive oil if preferred
02 - Store in an airtight box at room temperature for a week or so
03 - Dough stays fresh in the freezer for up to 3 months
04 - Bake at 350°F instead for about 13 minutes
