Hot Seafood Bread Bowl (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 large sourdough bread loaf with a crisp crust

→ Seafood Mix

02 - 1/2 pound juicy shrimp, cooked and chopped into pieces
03 - 1/2 pound fresh crab meat in chunks

→ Creamy Base

04 - 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded fresh
05 - 1/2 cup room-temperature cream cheese
06 - 1/3 cup real mayo

→ Seasonings & Aromatics

07 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
08 - 2 garlic cloves, minced into a paste
09 - 1/4 cup finely sliced green onions
10 - 1 teaspoon Old Bay spice blend
11 - 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on and let it heat up to 375°F (190°C).
02 - Grab your loaf of sourdough and carefully cut out the center. Leave some thickness on the sides so it can hold the filling. Keep those bread chunks – they'll be great for dipping!
03 - Mix the mayo, cream cheese, mozzarella, minced garlic, green onions, lemon juice, smoked paprika, and Old Bay seasoning in a big bowl. Keep stirring until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
04 - Gently fold the chopped shrimp and crab into your creamy base. Be careful not to break the pieces too much – you want them to stay chunky and visible.
05 - Pour your seafood mix right into the bread bowl. Spread it out evenly, then place the loaf onto a baking sheet. Bake it for about 20-25 minutes, or until the top looks golden and the filling is bubbling.
06 - Take it out of the oven, toss a handful of chopped green onions on top, and dig in while it’s warm. Use those bread chunks for scooping up the cheesy dip!

# Notes:

01 - You can prepare the filling a day early, but don’t assemble it with the bread until you’re ready to bake.
02 - If you’re hosting, use smaller bread loaves to make personal servings for everyone.
03 - Got no bread? No worries – bake the filling alone in a casserole or baking dish instead.
