French Toast Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, split.
02 - 1/2 a loaf of French bread (about 8 oz), cubed.
03 - 6 eggs, large.
04 - 1 cup of packed brown sugar.
05 - 1/2 cup butter.
06 - Optional: Powdered sugar for sprinkling on top.
07 - 1 tablespoon of brown sugar for the final touch.
08 - 2 cups of milk.
09 - 2 teaspoons of vanilla.

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 425°F and grease a 13x9 pan with butter.
02 - In a small pot, melt together butter and brown sugar until it’s creamy. Pour this smooth mixture into the pan.
03 - Scatter chunks of bread over the sugary butter base.
04 - In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, vanilla, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Pour this over the bread, making sure everything gets soaked.
05 - Dust the top with the remaining cinnamon and sprinkle with brown sugar.
06 - Pop it in the oven for 25-30 minutes until it’s golden on top. Sprinkle powdered sugar if you like once it’s done.

# Notes:

01 - Stale bread works best for a nice texture.
02 - You can make it the night before and bake it fresh in the morning.
03 - Store in the freezer for up to three months.
