Turn on the oven to 375°F. Stir together cinnamon and sugar for coating, then set it aside.

Whisk together the butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar until smooth. Blend in the salt, flour, and finely chopped pecans until it all comes together.

Scoop out 1½ tablespoons of dough, roll into balls, then space them an inch apart on your baking tray.

Pop in the oven for 9–12 minutes. Let them sit on the tray to cool for 5 minutes.

While the cookies are slightly warm, roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mix so they get fully covered.
