Blooming Onion Air Fryer (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Onion Blossom

01 - 1 sweet Vidalia onion, large-sized
02 - 1 cup plain flour
03 - 1 teaspoon ground paprika
04 - 1 teaspoon powdered garlic
05 - 1 teaspoon powdered onion
06 - 1 teaspoon table salt
07 - ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
08 - 2 eggs, large
09 - ½ cup tangy buttermilk
10 - 1 tablespoon spicy hot sauce
11 - Spray bottle of olive oil

→ Creamy Dipping Sauce

12 - ½ cup mayo
13 - ¼ cup ketchup
14 - 1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter
15 - 1 tablespoon mirin (or just water)
16 - ¼ teaspoon powdered garlic
17 - ¼ teaspoon powdered onion

# Instructions:

01 - Make 8-12 cuts from the top down, not touching the root. Gently spread the layers out into a flower shape.
02 - Cover with seasoned flour, then egg mixture, and a final coat of flour.
03 - Cook at 375°F for 12-15 minutes in the air fryer. Spray oil over it before cooking.
04 - Stir together all sauce ingredients till smooth. Serve it with the warm onion blossom.
