Banana Chip Dessert Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Wet Ingredients

01 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
02 - 1 cup mashed bananas (about 2)
03 - 1 large egg, at room temp
04 - 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
05 - 1/2 cup melted, unsalted butter

→ Dry Ingredients

06 - 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips, divided for mixing and topping
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
09 - 1 cup all-purpose flour

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on to 350°F (177°C). Cover the bottom and sides of an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper.
02 - Heat butter in the microwave until it melts, about 60 seconds. Let it cool for about 10-15 minutes so it isn’t too hot.
03 - Stir together the flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
04 - Whisk the cooled melted butter with brown sugar. Mix in the egg, mashed bananas, and vanilla until smooth.
05 - Slowly combine the dry mix with the wet ingredients. Gently fold in most of the chocolate chips, leaving some aside for later.
06 - Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan, then sprinkle the saved chocolate chips on top. Bake for 30-35 minutes. The center should be set and a toothpick should come out clean.
07 - Let it cool completely in the pan. Use the parchment paper to lift it out before cutting into pieces.

# Notes:

01 - Keep in a sealed container at room temp for up to 4 days
02 - Store in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for a month
